About Me

Namaste!

My name is Sanghamitra. Or you can call me Sanghi (pronounced like Tangy). When translated, Sanghamitra means where 'society' meets 'friendship' leading to perfect harmony. And that is exactly what I want to do as a yoga instructor.

Aside from my yoga studies, I also have a B.S. in Biological Sciences and an A.S. Respiratory Therapy. As a dedicated respiratory care practitioner here in the Bay Area, CA, I bring a deep understanding of health and wellness to my yoga practice. My journey into yoga began when I was very young, but it only became a significant part of my life in 2020 during the pandemic, a pivotal time in my life. Seeking solace during personal challenges that led to depression and anxiety, I turned to yoga and meditation as guides to help me heal.

I pursued my RYT-200 during the pandemic to serve as a transformative tool, enabling me to navigate life’s unexpected twists with resilience and grace. My commitment to growth and learning led me to obtain my RCYT with a trauma-informed emphasis along with my yoga sculpt and yin yoga certifications. My pregnancy and postpartum journey inspired me to obtain my certification in prenatal yoga as well. Currently, I am expanding my expertise with a focus on completing my 300 hr YTT.

Through my experience, I blend the precision of medical knowledge with the healing power of yoga to create a supportive environment for others. My classes are meant to build a sense of positivity and community for you. I strive to create a safe space to aid your mental and physical health. My mission is to share these transformative practices, helping individuals cultivate strength, inner peace, and holistic well-being.

I enjoy spending my spare time with my husband, daughter, and 2 pigs, Poppy and Podrick. I’m also learning pole dancing to help promote my inner goddess.

“Compromise where you can. Where you can’t, don’t. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, ‘No, you move’.”

-Sharon Carter, Captain America: Civil War

“Going high does not mean putting on a smile and saying nice things when confronted by viciousness and cruelty. Going high means taking the harder path. It means scraping and clawing our way to that mountain top…Going high means standing fierce against hatred…And going high means unlocking the shackles of lies and mistrust with the only thing that can truly set us free: the cold hard truth.”
