Yoga is often misunderstood to be primarily about asana, or the physical posture. And while there are many health benefits behind practicing asana, it is not the goal or purpose of yoga.

There are so many yoga trends out there today. Hot yoga, SUP yoga, goat yoga, dog yoga. I know I’m guilty for starting pig yoga in California. It’s become this commercialized industry with the goal of making money. But let’s come back to the origins of yoga. Yoga comes from the root word “yuj” in Sanskrit. When translated, “yuj” means “to unite" or “to join”.

Yoga is about community for me. Creating a safe space for individuals to come together and find a sense of joy, relaxation, and maybe even peace. My practice is about uniting together to promote the feeling of belonging and connection amongst the practitioners.

Now, I can’t say my teachings are free. I do have bills to pay. But, I do enjoy collaborating with small businesses and non-profit organizations to share the joy that yoga has brought me with others.

This page is dedicated to some of my past projects and collaborations.
